• She was born Kimberly Alexis Bledel on September 17, 1981.
• Her hometown is Houston, Texas. • Her father Martin is from Argentina, and her mother Nanette Dozier is from Mexico. • Her first language is Spanish. • She has one young brother, Eric David Bledel, who was born in 1986. • She first started acting in community theater to overcome her shyness. • She went on to do the plays Our Town and The Wizard of Oz. • She became a model after being scouted at a local mall. • She studied modeling at the Page Parkes Center for Modeling and Acting. • She majored in film at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts for one year. • She left school when she landed the role of Rory in Gilmore Girls. • Her first film appearance was as an uncredited extra in Rushmore, which was shot in her hometown. • Her first feature film was Tuck Everlasting, in which she had a starring role. • She appeared as the main character in the music video for Less Than Jake's She's Gonna Break Soon in 2003. • About her role as prostiute Becky in 2005's Sin City, she says: "She's a very professional prostitute. She carries a gun and she kicks ass." • Sin City was shot entirely in black and white with only certain objects bringing a splash of color. Director Robert Rodriguez kept her eyes blue because he found her eyes 'so amazing I had to keep them blue in the picture." • She enjoys reading, hiking, and taking photographs. • She works with First Book, an organization designed to help bring boks to disadvantaged children. • Even though her character Rory is addicted to coffee, Bledel dislikes it and drinks Coca-Cola instead when shooting scenes. |
