Jess Mariano... our resident James Dean Monosyllabic and sarcastic are two of the first words to come into your mind when you hear the name Jess Mariano. Having been sent from New York to Stars Hollow to live with his uncle Luke in the beginning of the second season, no one thought he was more than a rebel without a cause trying to live up to the legend James Dean left behind. He painted fake chalk outlines on the sidewalks and outbid Rory's perfect boyfriend to have lunch with her; he crashed her car and left without a goodbye. He wandered around town with an old, worn novel sticking out of his back pocket and slept with bands like the Distillers blasting from the stereo. He drove most people crazy but continued to come back, because he seemingly always had a logical reason to do so. Rory Gilmore... the town princess The town princess would be the simplest description of Rory Gilmore. She was practically raised by the town of Stars Hollow since her mother was so young when they moved there, and they all treat her as their daughter because of it. She had the perfect life. She attended a private school and hasd Ivy League dreams, she was best friends with her mother, she had a perfectly caring boyfriend, and everything was wonderful. Now, though, she's older, and making mistakes and things aren't going her way as easily. But the hard stuff is all just a part of growing up, now, isn't it?
